I am honored to be recognized and nominated for this year’s 2017 Artists Music Guild Heritage Awards to be held in Monroe, North Carolina on November 11, 2017.
I’ve been nominated for the following awards:
2017 Songwriter of the Year
2017 Song of the Year (Fortune Teller)
2017 Male Vocalist of the Year
2017 Album of the Year (A Better Life)
I first attended this event back in in 2015 and got to bring my daughter, Madison, with me. I think she enjoyed the “pageantry” as much, or perhaps more, than I did! The event is a black tie affair, so Madison got to dress up and get her hair done by a top professional, topped off by being interviewed while walking the Red Carpet. The event is nationally televised and it was great to get to meet and hear legendary artists such as Melba Moore (Fallin, You Stepped Into My Love, & A Little Bit More), Billy Paul (Me and Mrs. Jones), Martha Reeves (Nowhere To Run, Dancing in the Street, & Heat Wave), and Melanie Safka (Brand New Key) perform and accept the Sandy Hosey Lifetime Achievment Award(s). The event was also hosted by American Idol’s Bucky Covington, who did a great job musically and as a host.
I would like to say thank you to the Artist Music Guild for this recognition, and I look forward to being back in North Carolina to meet some of the industry legends and giants, as well as participate in all of the festivities that make this event so special.
