In stud poker, each player is given a total of seven cards. Two extra cards are provided to each player. Normally, each player’s hand must be the best of a five-card hand. However, in some variations, the player who makes the lowest hand is awarded the pot.
In three-card brag, a player can make a raise. Alternatively, a player can bet to match the previous player’s bet. Unless a player is in a position to win the hand, they should fold.
Depending on the rules of the game, there can be several rounds of betting. At the end of each round, the remaining players are allowed to reveal their hands. All but one player will fold. When the last player reveals their hand, the pot is awarded to that player. Other than the five-card draw, poker games are generally played in a single round.
